Teams and representatives from over 40 colleges and universities from across the United States attended the Civic Symposium on November 5-6, 2009. The symposium explored the effects of civic engagement and public work on the psychosocial well-being of college students. Participants exchanged information and insight into the continuing challenges associated with transforming institutional culture and priorities within existing infrastructure.

With generous support from the S. Engelhard Center, the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation, and the Lumina Foundation, Bringing Theory to Practice assembled 43 college and university presidents at the Georgetown University Marriott Conference Center in Washington, DC from November 10-11 for a Symposium on Campus Change for Learning.

To advance students’ leadership role in engaging their peers’ learning, health and civic development, the Project held its second annual Student Conference, Student Leadership and Civic Engagement.
