Wesleyan University will improve advising techniques and assess the effectiveness of mindfulness training on the overall well-being of students. Starting with the participants in the Wesleyan Math and Science Scholars (WesMaSS) program we look to implement the best techniques across campus. This will include developing an advising checklist focused on student well-being, working with students on reflective exercises in the advising relationship and developing faculty skills on advising and cultural competency to strengthen the advisor/advisee relationship.
