"We propose to develop a range of assessment tools to measure excellence in engaged learning in the cultural disciplines. These tools will strengthen the case for engaged learning in these disciplines, as well as model a useful approach for assessing engaged learning more generally. Imagining America requests a one-year AAC&U Bringing-Theory-to-Practice (BTtoP) grant of $10,000 to develop such assessment tools. By incorporating investigators from across our consortium, we intend to create tools that work for a number of campuses. By collaborating, we hope to provide national leverage to individual campuses seeking to make the assessment of such work a higher institutional priority. Specifically, we will co-ordinate diverse assessment efforts at six campuses affiliated with Imagining America."
